Reblogged this on Girl Power Academy (Girl Soda Atlas) and commented:
Hey GPA people… as some of you already know, I reacted to this WorkForce post when it came out feeling like us girls were being used… by Prez and artist alike, but ultimately Mr. Perfect is right about what’s being arm candied and competition-ed. But after recently witnessing, yes in utter self-inflicted horror, how the First Lady discussed going to college to get husbands on The Real talk show, the “wife device” is a bad omen for the future of black women as leaders and I came for the re-blog.

This went into my conspiracy theory too…How do you make this mistake?

wow, that’s crazy. She’s got her mom helping her raise those girls. She’s no single mother.

Michelle called her husband a “bum back in high school” on The Real talk show… in front of high school kids they were advising about college and I was thinking, okay does she know what bums are? What the people who are differentiated by definitions of “bums” “hobos” “winos” because one is down on their luck and bumming things like bucks and couches and sofas and cigarettes and one is homeward bound working odd jobs and hoping train cars to get home or hitch hiking and one is an addict-drunk on the street and all of them are homeless ultimately… so her discrimination against poor people with addiction problems or mental issues or foreclosure issues or 99%er issues are invisible to this First Lady. And she’s teaching the kids how to further dehumanize them. Lame-O.

Anyhow, I’m glad you’re doing the conspiracy theory totally now…

and thanks for putting up with my “flipping out on everybody” phase. sorry for the misunderstanding.
